Compost-Amended Foundation Mix

SD Microbes Base Garden Mix contains plant-based compost to add organic matter and improve the overall structure of the growing media. It is intended to serve as a versatile foundation mix for general garden and landscape applications.

For raised beds, customers may use the Base Garden Mix throughout the bed or combine it with one of our more heavily amended soil blends in the upper planting zone.

Important Product Information

This product is a foundation-style bulk garden mix and is not the same as our premium compost-based potting soil.

Depending on the plants being grown, additional compost, vermicompost, organic fertilizer, or soil amendments may be beneficial.

Delivery Information

Delivery pricing is based on distance from our Ramona facility and may vary depending on the exact delivery location.

Most bulk soil orders can be delivered in loads of up to approximately 12 cubic yards. Heavier materials, including compost and vermicompost, may have lower maximum load sizes due to weight.

Bulk materials are delivered loose using a dump trailer. Customers must provide a safe, accessible location where the material can be dumped.

Please make sure there is adequate room for the truck and trailer to enter, maneuver, raise the dump trailer, and safely exit the property.

Delivery fees apply per load. Orders requiring multiple loads may require additional delivery charges.

Pickup

Bulk material is also available for pickup at our Ramona location by appointment.
