Bokashi the BETTER and EASY WAY! No need to drain the bucket daily!

This system does not come with a spigot. We find this to be a much better method. And also removes the need for daily maintanence. Bokashi composting is a fermentation process. So the less air, the better the fermentation. Buckets with spigots tend to let air in which is why leachate goes bad fast. Hence the need to drain daily.

Love this “Bierkashi” bokashi composting kit. A bucket with a screw top lid and some bokashi! Bought one for work & home. Already almost completely filled both buckets. You’d be amazed at the amount of stuff you throw away that will end up making good compost. Great product from a great company trying to do the right thing!

This is fantastic. I keep it in the house and as I get my scraps, left overs or when I clean out the frig it all goes into the bucket, found something that was freezer burned it goes into the bucket. Sometimes when I have to open the bucket I see white mold starting. Sounds silly but I got so excited because that means it's working. I have already ordered another air tight lid so I can keep going.

I love how easy this has been so far. I have had it for 2 weeks and my bucket is about 1/3 full. When I have enough scraps in my bowl ready to add to my black bucket when I open my bucket. It doesn’t stink at all. I wish I had more scraps to fill it up faster.

I inadvertently stumbled onto this system while watching a garden U TUBE video with Wendi Phan, so I decided to try Ì bought 2 systems, just started on the second bucket. First bucket is still fermenting This system is very easy and manageable as compared to other systems that I have tried. No unpleasant smells or odors. I like the fact that I can use the system in my house instead of having to run outside every day to my outside composter Most importantly the customer service is excellent! My Bierkashi compost does not always get a lot of fungal bloom, but the fermentation still does wonders!! Just 1 week in the hot compost after fermenting and things have broken down a lot already! The air scape lid and bucket without spigot make the system super easy to use!

This stuff really works. Got so tired of the rats eating my compost! Now I have the enclosed buckets (6). I use one every week and by the time I come back to the first one, it is ready to go in the compost bin, and is too much like dirt to be eaten by rats ! SD Microbes' single-bucket system is a game-changer. My homemade 2-bucket system (see photo in my review of "Bierkashi Bokashi Blend") had me draining putrid leachate every few days. I'd ferment for 3 weeks, still draining leachate that was so rank-smelling I overheard my neighbor say it "smelled like poop" in his yard. Then, as the weather warmed, I discovered my Leaktite lid was *not* maggot-tight. Ugh. I ordered the SD Microbes' bucket with Gamma Seal lid and tested them in the August heat. No leachate to drain, no foul smell, and after 2 weeks of fermenting, no maggots. I feel like I've earned my bokashi black belt.

Always love receiving my bierkashi! I use it to compost almost all my food and I do this all in my own kitchen! There is no foul odor AT ALL! When it's done I bury it in my 80 gallon soil factory! I used to toss my used soil but I've found a way to take that dry depleted soil and give it new life! I also incorporated red wriggler compost worms to the soil factory and top feed with organic scraps. This is just one way to use it.......its versatile!
